Welcome to our newsletter

Welcome to the Autumn 2024 edition of the Council’s newsletter. It’s been a busy few months, so let’s see what has been happening.

The Council released its Q3 2024 market data recently, revealing encouraging trends with two consecutive quarters of growth, which is the first time we’ve seen this in two years. This growth signals positive developments in the market. You can view the press release here or for a deeper dive into the data, access the mini report here.

Looking ahead, we’re delighted to announce that all registration categories are now open for the Later Life Lending Summit, taking place in Sheffield on 19 November. The event is hosted by the Council in collaboration with the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries and with the support of lead sponsor Adlington Law. This event builds on the success of the Manchester Adviser Summit in 2023 and is designed to bring together industry experts and peers to offer practical later-life lending insights and networking opportunities. Don’t miss out, click here to register.

Our recent webinar on navigating long-term care and later-life planning is now available in the Member’s Lounge on our website. Members can also access a discounted rate on the LIBF qualification by registering before 30 November. Click here to access the webinar and take advantage of this exclusive offer.

The Council’s newly revamped events page has been a big hit and is designed to connect our members more effectively and showcase the many initiatives happening across our sector. We invite members to contact the communications team with details about the events they’re hosting, helping us build a robust network of knowledge-sharing and support. Whilst on the topic of events, the Council facilitated a meeting with the Government, Money and Pensions Service, and Regulator with major trade associations from the investment, building society, insurance, mortgage intermediary and financial sectors together with consumer groups to consider a vision for property wealth in later life. It was a very constructive meeting and the significant attendance shows that this is an important issue whose time has come.
