
David is regarded as an expert in the Later Life Finance market. He has focused on this area since 2005. In September 2009 David joined the regulator (the Financial Conduct Authority) and became regarded as their subject matter expert, owning the rules that surround such products and helping the FCA better understand the impact of regulation on consumers. David left the FCA in 2015 to become Head of Compliance for Retirement Advantage (Now Canada Life Home Finance), a lifetime mortgage provider. David has also spent 2 years as a member of the Equity Release Council Standards Board. He now sits on their Risk Committee and helps them with policy and industry related decisions. David joined Knight Frank Finance in the spring of 2019 to form the Later Life Finance team. David speaks publicly and writes articles for Knight Frank about the growing Later Life Finance market, and is often asked for comment by the industry press. In November 2023 he won the ‘Market Champion of the year’ award at the Later Life Lending awards thanks to his continued efforts to educate both consumers and professional advisers about the growing number of options available to older homeowners.
